One of the finest actors in Mollywood that could give many actors a run for their money is Vinayakan. He was first introduced in director Thampi Kannanthanam’s Maanthrikam, but was unanimously appreciated for the performance as Ganga in Rajeev Ravi’s 2016 hit, Kammatipaadam which won him many awards.
The actor had recently hit the headlines for his anti- BJP comment in an interview that he had posted on his Facebook. He reportedly faced the wrath of RSS and BJP supporters for his comment. He had said that he was shocked by the defeat of the left in the state. When asked about the BJP’s chances in Kerala, the actor said, “They won’t be able to do anything in Kerala. We are smart people. Didn’t we see that in this election?” Soon after the video was posted on his FB, threats flooded in the form of comments for the actor. Some even threatened to boycott his film and this threat coming at this point where the actor’s upcoming venture, Thottappan is scheduled to hit the screens on May 5th.
However, a couple of days later, a female social activist took to her social media and slammed the actor. Mruduladevi Sasidharan, a poet and a journalist, leveled serious sexual allegation against the actor in a post on Facebook. She wrote, “I valued the actor for standing with the actress who was attacked (Actress assault case). However, in real life, he is anti-women. I don’t respect him because he had asked me to share his bed. I have safely kept the call recorded.”
After this post, several others took down to their social media and narrated the bitter experiences they had gone through. Amongst others, Human Rights activist, Rekha Raj, extending her support to Mruduladevi demanded a public apology from Vinayakan!
