In Petta, which featured Rajinikanth as the hero, Malavika Mohanan played a supporting role as Poongodi Maalik, Rajinikanth's friend Maalik's wife and the villain Nawazuddin Siddiqui's sister. Her natural, subtle yet fierce portrayal of Poongodi had captured the hearts of many, garnering her praise and attention.
Subsequently, Malavika Mohanan was added as one of the crucial actors in Vijay's 64th movie - Master. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, this movie has one of the wide and celebrated star casts, which includes Vijay Sethupathi as the touted antagonist, along with Arjun Das, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Andrea Jeremiah, amongst others.
With the lockdown set in place, this phase has indeed been a time for throwback videos.
