SIVAKARTHIKEYAN'S DON LOCKS A NEW RELEASE DATE!

Apart from Sivakarthikeyan, Don also features SJ Suryah, Soori, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Sivaangi and Bala Saravanan amongst others. The film is directed by debutant director Cibi Chakaravarthi. The film features music composed by Anirudh and is jointtly produced by Sivakarthikeyan's SK Productions and Lyca Productions. Sivakarthikeyan will be seen as a college student while SJ Suryah plays the role of a college principal in the film. 

The film has a huge following among the youth. Anirudh's songs 'Jalabulajangu' and 'Bae' have already created a storm in the social media.

The crew had earlier planned to release the film on February 19 on the occasion of Sivakarthikeyan's birthday as the works on the film was completed by the end of last year itself. But due to the third wave of Corona the release date was later officially announced as March 25.

Since SS Rajamouli's upcoming film RRR will be released on the same date (March 25) whose Tamil Nadu theatrical distribution rights were acquired by Lyca Productions, the makers have decided to postpone the release date to a different date. 

It was said that if both the films (RRR and Don) would release on the same day there might be a problem in getting enough theaters for both the films.

Therefore, Lyca Productions has now announced the new release date of Don. In their official announcement, Don is expected to hit the big screens on May 13th. Well, this move has now also solved the problem of allocating enough theaters in Tamil Nadu for RRR as well.
