Kajal Aggarwal joined the sets of Acharya that stars Chiranjeevi in the lead on Tuesday. She was given a warm welcome by the film’s crew. Originally, Trisha was supposed to star as Chiranjeevi’s pair but decided to opt out for her own reasons post which the role went to Kajal.

It is rumoured that Chiranjeevi has a dual role in Acharya. The grapevine has it that the film will be about a middle-aged Naxalite-turned-social reformer who launches a fight against the Endowments Department over misappropriation and embezzlement of temple funds and donations.

Koratala Siva directs the film. Kajal is also set to soon work on a Tamil horror-comedy with director Deekay. The project is believed to feature three more leading ladies. Kajal and Deekay had previously come together for the Tamil romantic comedy Kavalai Vendam.
