Irudhi Suttru director Sudha Kongara on the response to her film and her dubbing artist

Irudhi Suttru directed by Sudha Kongara featuring Madhavan and Ritika Singh as the leads is receiving glowing reviews from critics and audiences alike.

Naturally happy with the positivity around her film, Sudha shares with behindwoods about the feedbacks she has been receiving. “Crazy crazy claps whistles and screams at Udayam and even more at Sangam. There was standing ovation at Satyam. People came recognising me and running after me. In Udayam an old man said ‘India needs a film like this right now’. A young boy came running behind my car and said ‘I'm proud of you’. It's being celebrated all over”.

An important factor of the film was the contribution of the dubbing artist who spoke for heroine Ritika Singh. Talking about her work in the film, Sudha says, “Uma spoke for Ritika and I would break her voice every morning by making her scream and then talk hoarse. So her voice was different and has the coarseness and the slight harshness of a girl screaming her wares in the fish market every day”. Sudha is also elated because Uma is a known dubbing artist but in this film no one was able to recognize her voice.
