Ilayaraja's Hey Zindagi track used in Shah Rukh's Dear Zindagi

For movie followers, director Balki being an ardent Ilayaraja fan, is not something new. The director has always had the maestro scoring music for his films and also sometimes using Raja’s earlier Tamil tracks in his Hindi film(s).

Balki’s director wife Gauri Shinde is also following the same pattern in her tomorrow’s release Dear Zindagi with Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt. This film has music by Amit Trivedi.

But the team has taken permission from Ilayaraja and has used the song ‘Hey Zindagi Galae Laga Le’ from Sadma which was picturized on Kamal and Sridevi in 1983 and was later used in Tamil as ‘En Vaanilae Varum Anbae Vaa’ in Rajinikanth’s Thambikku Endha Ooru in 1984. This is the only song that had the same tune of the maestro in Hindi and Tamil for Kamal and Rajini. And now Shah Rukh Khan joins the list.

In Dear Zindagi, this song is sung by Arjith Singh and is filmed on Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt.
