'Valimai' also marks the actor-director duo's second project under Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner post the 2019 courtroom drama 'Nerkonda Paarvai'. The movie stars Huma Qureshi, Pearle Maaney, Yogi Babu and Kartikeya Gummakonda. The music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja while the camera is cranked by DOP Nirav Shah.

While the first single from the movie 'Naanga Vera Maari', penned by Vignesh Shivan was released a few weeks back amidst high expectations, the second single is expected to arrive anytime soon and fans are eagerly awaiting its release. At a time when Thala fans are waiting for any update to arrive regarding the trailer or teaser, Actor Karthikeya Gummakonda's interview where he talks about Thala Ajith is going viral.

Stating that he was afraid to play the role of a villain against Thala Ajith in Valimai, he said the ace actor spoke to him and made him comfortable to don the role. Further, he said when the dubbing works were ongoing, Ajith called him and appreciated him for the effort that he's put into the film. He also added that the actor praised him mentioning that his role has come out well in the film. Ajith had also told Karthikeya, that he would reach greats following the release of the film.
