DHANUSH'S NEW FILM 'KARNAN' HITS THIS ROADBLOCK - FULL DETAILS!

Now the movie is facing a new problem - Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Samooganala Peravai (Welfare Association) has apparently written a letter to Dhanush stating that since the film 'Karnan' was earlier attributed to Sivaji Ganesan's epic film, Dhanush's upcoming movie has been requested to change their title.

The letter reads thus: "We know that you are currently starring in a movie titled "Karnan". The word "Karnan" is remembered not only by Sivaji's millions of fans but also by Tamils ​​all over the world for his role as the epic character in the film."

"Although it is legal to reuse a movie name, according to one's conscience and in fair terms, the names of some movies should be avoided from being reused. Because the title is what bears the whole storyline of the film and represents it for years."

"On that note, we opposed your film with the title 'Thiruvilayadal' during its advent, and you had changed the title to 'Thiruvilaiyadal Aarambam'. But it also has to be noted that when your film 'Uthamaputhiran' released, we did not raise any opposition".

In their letter, they have also pointed out various other films by other actors which keep rolling out in the recent times. "But, films such as Saraswathi Sabatham, Veerapandiya Kattabomman, Thiruvilaiyadal, Karnan, Kappalottiya Thamizhan shouldn't be reused since they bear a unique significance."

"Karnan means the generous, the benevolent. But your film which has been titled 'Karnan' seems to be one in which the hero fights for his rights. If the film is based on Mahabharatha story and you are naming the film based on character's name Karnan, then it will be acceptable, but not when you are naming a social film so."

They have also mentioned that naming the film Karnan might hurt Sivaji fans as well as those who love the epic Mahabharatham. This is the reason they have mentioned for their request to change the movie's title.
