After the catchy Kolaveri Di, actor Dhanush found viral success for the second time with the song Rowdy Baby, featured in director Balaji Mohan's 2018 film Maari 2, sequel to the 2015 film Maari, in which the actor played the titular role. The film was also produced by Dhanush under the banner Wunderbar Productions.
Apart from Dhanush, the film also starred Sai Pallavi, Robo Shankar, Kreshna and Tovino Thomas in important roles. Recently the film crossed more that seven-hundred million views on Youtube, thereby making it the most viewed South Indian song on Youtube.
The dance number is crooned by Dhanush and Dhee while the former had also written the lyrics. Composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, Prabhu Deva had choreographed the dance moves for the song.
