On this day, July 13, 2012, Ajith’s Billa 2 directed by Chakri Toleti hit the screens worldwide. The movie’s first look posters, teaser and also the songs by Yuvan Shankar Raja rocketed expectations for the film. It had Ajith in a very stylish avatar and was termed as a gangster film which was a prequel to the 2007 hit film Billa.

Though Ajith has one of the largest fan bases in Tamil cinema, the actor experimented with Billa 2, as it was an out and out action film with a lot of violence and the movie received an ‘A’ certificate. However, Ajith had trusted the script and the content and the limitations of the A certificate audiences alone did not worry the star.

Billa 2 was also the last ‘A’ certificate film for Ajith Kumar and the film had actors like Vidyut Jamwal and Parvathy Omanakuttan in pivotal roles. It was a tailor made script for Ajith which was a one-man show all the way. With 5 years completed now, this day is something that would be cherished by Ajith and the entire team.
