BHAGYARAJ ON NEPOTISM DEBATE SURROUNDING SUSHANT'S DEMISE - HOW CAN THIS ALONE BE WRONG?

One debate that has been looming is nepotism and the struggle outsiders undergo because of the same. Talking about nepotism, veteran director K Bhagyaraj in a recent conversation with TOI said, "I agree that star kids will get the opening into the film industry easily, but will the opportunities continue to come because of being a star kid is not true. It is normal for the stars to create an opening for their kids into the industry. When people do favours for people based on their caste, native and friendship, how can this alone be wrong? These are things that are there in the industry naturally. The opening and backing of star parents alone will not help the actor kids. There are numerous star kids who are still struggling."

"I feel the reason behind his death is because he didn't have the right people around to guide him. When he got the huge opportunity to play Dhoni, who is a huge star around the world, there will definitely be people who envy his growth. While some might be happy for him, there will also be people who would think about why they didn't the role or how did he get the role and so on."

"Having got an opportunity of a lifetime like this, he should have anticipated all sorts of talks by people and their envy as well and mentally prepared himself to digest all these negativity. If there were people around him to constantly remind him this it would help him to ignore them. I feel he must have taken the extreme step as he didn't anticipate the negativity and also didn't have people around him to warn," he further added.
