WILL RAJINI ALIGN WITH THE BJP? A RESPONSE FROM A POLTICAL ANALYST

One of the important questions that is going around in cinema and political corridors these days is, will Rajinikanth enter politics? If yes, what route would he take?

Arnab Goswami, the renowned journalist and TV anchor asked this question to the eminent lawyer, political analyst and the editor of Tuglaq, Mr. Gurumurthy. We present his response below:

“You (Arnab) gave a possibility that he would float a regional party and will have an alliance with a national party like the BJP. That appears to be the trend of thinking in his mind.

He (Rajini) represents all that the Tamil Nadu politics has moved away from. He is basically a spiritualist, a Hindu philosophic minded person. In fact, he had once told me that he is a fan of Narendra Modi. So obviously, there is a great amount of mutual affection and respect between the two of them.

For someone who will make a snide comment against Rajinikanth about his political inexperience or say things like how can he take the responsibility of a state, he would overcome this deficit by probably aligning with the BJP. So, I think there is every possibility that he will enter into an alliance with the BJP.”
