According to Bollywood media reports, the actress was detained from her Ahmedabad residence by the Rajasthan Police based on the complaint filed by a worker of the Indian National Congress party.
On December 16, her bail plea was rejected by a local court in Rajasthan and was sent to judicial custody for 14 days for her defamatory speech against Nehru as per PTI reports.
Known for acting in films such as Tauba Tauba, 36 China Town to name a few, Payal Rohatgi is also popular for her participation in the Hindi reality show Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan.
