Actor Parthiepan’s views after winning at the Producer Council elections

Actor and director Parthiepan, who is now an EC member after yesterday’s Producer Council elections, has stated that it is solely Vishal’s vision to bring about a change and that they do not have any hidden intentions post their victory. When we contacted Parthiepan regarding this, he gave us some exclusive views on the betterment of films and cine industry on the whole.

Parthiepan said, “This victory is no pride or anything like that, it is Vishal’s vision. It is not like we are going to earn money out of it. It is just a step ahead for producers of the film industry. We have been battling piracy and other issues that bring down cinema and would like to clarify that we will work towards extinguishing it.

Our Treasurer SR Prabhu has some unique ideas for the same and also for content oriented film production which would prove to be a good channel for the talented. All over the world, people watch our Tamil films and still we are not reaping profits. The gains can never be weighed with the losses that the industry bears.

I was one among the first few people to go against piracy, back in 2004, when I took to Burma Bazaar and even Mount Road to put forward my thoughts and ideas and fight for our rights which piracy has been bringing down. However, it requires some level of power and authority to battle these issues and it looks like we have it now. We are with Vishal on the same grounds and will work hard just for the benefit of everybody. There are no other intentions for the elected candidates and we are very clear about our vision.
