Kabilan Vairamuthu clarifies regarding the controversy on his lyrics penned for Peigal Jakirathai's promo song.

Mixing up politics and cinema, thereby misleading the audience, seems to be the core motive of an unknown group that works tirelessly. The recent victim of this controversial cyclone is Kabilan Vairamuthu, son of legendary lyricist Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu.

Kabilan has penned the lyrics for two songs in the horror flick, Peigal Jakirathai. The album was launched on October 4th and here we have allegations against this creator for his lyrics in the promotional song of this Kanmani directorial.

The lines “Veppa Maram Saanjalum Velakkamaru Jeichalum”, are claimed to denote the success of the AAM AADMI PARTY, whose symbol is the broom. When Behindwoods spoke to Kabilan Vairamuthu, he clarified stating,

“Couple of months back, when I actually wrote a poem on politics very few understood it. Now when I write a fantasy song, it becomes politics. It is funny and weird.”

According to the lyricist, the word broomstick was used to indicate the treatment of using a broom to get rid of ghosts, and that it had no other dimension to it. The threat to creative freedom seems to amplify day by day!!
