Team Anjaan brings about a revolution in South India

Aug 10, 2014

Suriya's Anjaan is getting ready for a mammoth release all over the world in both its Tamil and Telugu versions, this coming Friday. Since August 15th is a National holiday, all theaters in Chennai city are scheduling special early morning shows to pull in more audiences and to meet the demand. Families are expected to frequent theaters, along with Suriya's fan base, during the opening weekend and Anjaan is expected to be 2014's best opener by far.

To counter the devastating threat from piracy and to present a superior viewing experience to the audiences, the Anjaan team has come up with a pioneering move. Dhananjayan of UTV detailed about this, through his Twitter feed.

"Digital revolution in South India. Anjaan will be the 1st high budget film with a huge star, which will release only through digital screens.

No physical print is allowed for Anjaan screening anywhere in the world. Having shot the film with 6K resolution quality, we want only digital.

This ALL digital projection of Anjaan will also enable us to easily find where the piracy has emanated from through special codes in each print.

Anjaan is copyright protected through digital cinema projection across the world. In-theater recording of the film is illegal / punishable"

Way to go, indeed. We wish Team Anjaan a massive success.
