Maari will be Dhanush's 5th ...

The name Dhanush was just another 'name' till the release of Thulluvadho Ilamai. Thereafter, that name became synonymous to hard work, dedication and commitment with his movies like Kadhal Konden, Pudhupettai, Polladhavan, 3 etc. Further to remembering his name, some of his movies are also remembered because of his character names, which in turn became the title as well.

His movies such as Pudhukottaiyilirundhu Saravanan, Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram, Kutty and Maryan have been named after his character names. Now, Maari is his fifth movie to have the title as the character’s name. Thiruvilayadal Arambam and Sullan were also titles derived from his respective character names.

The shooting of Maari is in progress and it is expected to be a different film by Balaji Mohan compared to his other experimental flicks. Produced by Radhika Sarathkumar’s Magic Frames and Dhanush's own Wunderbar Films, Anirudh would be providing the music while Kajal Agarwal is said to pair up with Dhanush. This duo was supposed to get together for Polladhavan but somehow they missed it.
