Director Jeeva Shankar on his Amara Kaaviyam

Arya’s Amara Kaaviyam – a step ahead of ‘Naan’

Apr 19, 2014

A multi-tasker that he is, Arya is shuttling between acting and production. He is bankrolling Amara Kaaviyam, starring his brother Sathya, under his banner, The Show People. Directed by Naan fame Jeeva Shankar, the film also features Mia George as the female lead. The project has been wrapped up and the director, in a statement, briefs us about his exciting new venture.

“Romantic themes have always been a favourite film genre ever since the advent of the visual media. The theme of love is like a yarn and it hugely depends on the weaver who weaves the thread into an appreciable material .The director's role is similar to this - weaving the script with his fine touches. Each weaver will have a style and similarly directors have their own individual patterns too. This individuality will differentiate every film from each other. My earlier film 'Naan' was appreciated by the critics and the audience alike for the intriguing screenplay. I have gone a step ahead to pull out the best of me for the screenplay of ' Amara Kaaviyam '. 'Amara Kaaviyam ' will reflect the love of every single soul”, says the director.

Jeeva Shankar also adds, “I generally plan the location, its geographical positions before I could put the ink on the paper. As far as I am concerned the location is as important as the hero and heroine. My experience as a cameraman comes handy to choose the best locations. I have shot in locales, where others had not shot until now.”
