Suriya fears for his daughter's future

Actor Suriya who was one of the high profile guests along with Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathy at the recently held audio launch of Malini 22 Palayamkottai spoke his heart out on some serious issues.

Malini 22 Palayamkottai is a film based on the revenge of a young woman who has been physically and sexually abused and this theme led to Suriya saying that with the present state of affairs in the country he fears for his own daughter’s future and safety. He also went on to point out that a leading U.S magazine had warned people from going to India and said that there was a ‘rape festival’ going on here.

Suriya also backed the notion that there’s an imbalance within the industry in terms of the kind of films which are being delivered on a regular basis. He felt that only a few films create an impact on people’s lives long after leaving the theatres and he believed that Malini 22 Palayamkottai would be one such film.
