Life of Pi gets ten nominations!

Jan 10, 2013

This year there’ll be an Indian touch to the London’s most prestigious film awards, BAFTA. Ang Lee’s Life of Pi, a fantasy film based on the life of an Indian zoo Keeper, starring Suraj Sharma, Shravanthi, Irrfan Khan and Tabu has bagged ten BAFTA nominations.

Suraj Sharma, the handsome youth who played the young Pi, has been nominated for the Rising Star Award. Apart from that the film has been nominated in nine other categories, namely, Best Achievement in Special Visual Effects, Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Film, Best Original Music, Best Production Design, Best Screenplay (Adapted) and Best Sound.

The last time India stole the spotlight in BAFTA was in 2009, when AR Rahman and Resul Pookutty won their awards for Slumdog Millionaire.

We wish the film bags the most number of awards at the prestigious ceremony and pray Suraj Sharma gets his big award.
