Dhanush has already started shooting for his next Tamil project, Velai illa Pattadhari. The film is being helmed by Velraj, a cameraman turned director. A regular in all the Vetrimaaran films and most of Dhanush’s films, Velraj recently narrated how he roped in Dhanush for his maiden directorial venture.
 

Dhanush and Velraj supposedly used to talk a lot during shooting breaks. “During one such conversation, Dhanush jovially asked me if I have any idea how difficult is the job of a director. He also challenged me if I could make a film if Dhanush gives me his dates,” recollects Velraj. The new director took it up as a real challenge and here they are, doing a movie together.
 

Talking about the film, Velraj said that it is a beautiful love story with Amala Paul as the heroine. She plays a doctor in the film and director Samuthirakani and Saranya Ponvannan will play the parents of Dhanush. The Aadukalam star is producing the film himself, under his home banner Wunderbar Films and Anirudh will score for the film.
