A QUICK ROUND UP OF WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED FOR THIS CHRISTMAS

Back to back poster releases, entertaining trailers, debutants set to create a change, actors pushing their limits, stardom hitting an all time high and many more make any movie buff sit at the edge of the seat waiting for the weekend to arrive with a new movie to watch. The current cinema situation is where the viewer’s takeaway goes beyond what is shown within the four corners of the screen.

Speaking of cinemas in a holiday season, we have some good mixed bag of movies releasing for Christmas this year. The two Fridays surrounding Christmas (19th and 25th) are going to sweep your feet away with movies. Not to forget our Superstar’s Lingaa hits the silver screen prior to the Christmas weekend, on Dec 12th.

A quick round up of what can be expected around the Christmas time is as follows:

Kayal: Post Kumki, Prabu Solomon is set to recreate magic with Kayal. The movie is about Tsunami and stories that relate to that incident. Kayal’s music is already a hit with D Imman’s delightful touch. The film is said to have used Dolby Atmos technology to recreate the sound effects of a Tsunami in a very realistic manner. Known for pushing his limits and attaining perfection, Prabu Solomon is all set to release this venture on Dec 25th, reportedly.

Enakkul Oruvan: Remake of the Kannada movie Lucia directed by Pavan Kumar, Enakkul Oruvan is directed by debutante Prasad Kumar under CV Kumar’s production banner. Siddharth and Deepa Sannidhi are playing the lead roles. Santhosh Narayan scores the music for this supposed christmas day release.

Isai: This is a comeback movie for SJ Suryah post Anbe Aaruyire. He is in full throttle to sizzle the Kollywood with a musical thriller starring debutant Savitiri as the heroine. The man definitely can wear multiple hats as he is the music director, writer, director and the hero of the movie. The music has already topped the charts; we have to wait for the release to view the onscreen magic.

Pisasu: A man who takes cinema more seriously than a form of entertainment, Myskkin is ready with his next film title Pisasu. As the name suggests, the film falls under the horror genre. Produced by Bala’s B-Studios, the film is waiting to be censored for its release on Dec 19th.

Kappal: Another rookie in the race is Karthik G. Krish’s Kappal. The director is a former assistant of Shankar. Film features Vaibhav and Sonam Bajwa in the lead roles. It is said that Vaibhav’s role showcase shades of Karthik’s character from Mouna Ragam.

Vellaikaara Dhorai: Another surprise entry in the list is Ezhil’s Vellaikaara Durai featuring Vikram Prabu and Sri Divya in the lead and with music by D Imman.

Meaghamann: Featuring Arya and Hansika, this film is directed by Magizh Thirumeni with Thaman as the music director. A couple, one would love to see on screen, is ready to set the stage on fire. This film looks like Arya’s most awaited commercial mainstream where he is seen playing the typical action ‘hero’.

Season for perfect bag of movies ranging from horror thriller to romantic drama, this Christmas is sure to give merriment for the viewers.
