Vamsam’s audio release was a mega mega event chaired by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M Karunanidhi as Arulnidhi, his grandson is making his screen debut as hero in this flick directed by Pandiraj who shot to fame with his very first film Pasanga.

The expectations surrounding Vamsam have been steadily increasing due to its hero and director. Sunaina as the heroine appears highly deglamorized as a village belle in the film. The press meet of the film also drew much attention when the lead pair cried incessantly as they were moved emotionally reminiscing about their trails and tribulations while shooting for Vamsam.

Taj Noor who apprenticed with Rahman opens his innings as the music director and expectations are riding high on this disciple of Oscar winner. A couple of songs have also been topping the charts.

Director Pandiraj has supposedly narrated a love story with village as the back drop. The story is also
said to encompass the relationship between extended families in a village and the highs and lows of it. According to Pandiraj, he has portrayed the disappearing martial art forms of Tamil Nadu like Veechu, Peechuva, Surulpattai, Lesam, Chendayudham, Valari and Idikattai in an exhaustive manner. He firmly believes that Vamsam would certainly throw light on these martial art forms to the current generation. Said to be shot in a very unfriendly terrain under hot weather in and around Pudukottai, Vamsam is likely to provide what it promises.

With just one film for competition, let’s see if Pandiraj weaves the same magic that he wove in Pasanga!
