Although not a huge commercial success, director Magizh Thirumeni's first film Mundhinam Paartheney was widely appreciated for its truthful portrayal of love and relationships among the urban youth of the current generation. Thadaiyara Thaakka is his second and though there are good vibes about the movie, it was stuck somewhere in the producer's dens until now.

Arun Vijay and Mamta Mohandas play the film's lead people with Salim Baig, Rakul Preet Singh and Murugadas playing other significant roles. Shot in and around Chennai, Thadaiyara Thaakka is touted to be an action film with risky action sequences performed by Arun Vijay himself.

Music is scored by Thaman, and the album's four songs are written by Madhan Karky and Vaali. The soundtrack received good reviews and the kuthu number Poondhamalli Dhaan has also started doing rounds in the FM stations in Chennai and other parts of the Tamil Nadu.

Released by Feather Touch entertainment, Thadaiyara Thaakka's satellite rights were bagged by Sun TV recently. In more ways than one, this will be a crucial movie for Arun Vijay and director Magizh Thirumeni.
