The producers belonging to four film industries – Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam – have decided not to start new films from tomorrow, September 7th, 2011. This joint decision was taken following a deadlock in the meeting between the FEFSI and the producers over the pay hike.

The producers from the four film industries met at the Film Chamber in Chennai to discuss this issue and arrived at this decision. However, the films that are in progress now will not be hurt by this decision, the producers clarified. A meeting with the FEFSI heads is expected to resolve this deadlock.

Reacting to this, the FEFSI Secretary G Siva has said that their members will not disrupt any film shooting and will cooperate.
