Just like Bollywood favoring multistarrers,
Tamil cinema also has welcome multistarrer
subjects, and taking in account the past few
years records they have done a pretty decent
business. They have made good collections
indeed. Here are a few of them.
A family tale involving brothers, Samuthiram
starring Sarath Kumar, late Murali, Manoj
in KS Ravikumar’s direction made good
business.
Aanandham with Malayalam superstar Mamooty,
late Murali and Abbas in Lingusamy's direction
won a few hearts with its family content.
Late Srividhya played the endearing mother.
STR's Vaanam was a multistarrer with an ensemble
star cast. Remade from a Telugu blockbuster,
it made reasonable business in Tamil Nadu
as well.
Although Mankatha might seem it's all about
Ajith, it also has an ensemble star cast including
Arjun and the Venkat Prabhu regulars. What
it did to the box office is everybody's guess.
Shankar's adaptation of 3 Idiots, upcoming
Nanban has Vijay, Jiiva and Srikanth in the
lead. Another multistarrer, Shankar is hopeful
that the movie will be as successful as it
was in Hindi.
