It has been confirmed, finally! Silambarasan aka STR and Telugu star Rana Daggubati will share the screen space in Vetri Maaran directed Vada Chennai. While STR will be the hero, Rana will appear in a special prominent role, disclosed Vetri Maaran.

GV Prakash will score the music for this film. As the title indicates, Vada Chennai’s story will revolve around North Chennai, said the film’s producer Dhayanidhi Alagiri of Cloud Nine Movies.

He also put to rest the rumors that it is a historical film. Dhayanidhi Alagiri revealed that the pre production work for Vada Chennai has already begun and the shooting will start from March 2012.

According to the producer, the director is taking some time to finalize the heroine because it is an equally important role as the male lead. Andrea has been signed for the pivotal role.

Velraj will be in charge of cinematography, Kishore T E will edit Vada Chennai and Jackie will be the art director. The producer added that he will update on the other cast and crew once he signs them up.
