Malayalam film industry refers both Mammootty and Mohanlal as Superstars. The two stars rule the roost in Mollywood till today and there is a strong dissent to this from a section of actors who feel that it is time for them to make way for the youngsters.
In a recent interview, Mammootty has appealed to all those referring to him as the Superstar to refrain from calling him that. The star said that it is high time these titles are done away with and only then the Malayalam film industry would move over to the next level.
