National award winning writer and director, Ranjith is hopping mad. He wished to rope in Prakash Raj and Mohanlal for his Malayalam film Spirit, for which the shooting has just started. Now Shankar Ramakrishnan has stepped in to play Prakash Raj's character. The reason for this is Prakash Raj's lack of professionalism, Ranjith insisted. The director has said that Prakash Raj expressed an interest to work with him and then simply backed off without a word of explanation. Ranjith added that he simply stopped responding to calls and text messages.

Prakash Raj is maintaining a dignified silence over this issue. Clearly there is a lot of misunderstanding here and it is hoped that the two national award winning artistes settle their differences soon.
