K-town’s favourite comedian Santhanam’s fans recently got a rare opportunity to throw their questions at him. In response to their questions the lively comedian amused his fans with his usual wacky answers. Here are the excerpts…
Though he is the most sought after comedian in Kollywood, he hasn’t had the chance of pairing up with a bubbly heroine yet. But still he says he enjoys working with Tamannah and Hansika the most, for he keeps teasing them both while in sets and drives them crazy. Once they get irritated and shouts at him, which he says he enjoys the most, he picks up the same words they used, to tease them on-screen. About their talent he jokingly says, “It is their expressions that take them to heights. You ask them to act for 5 Rs. they will perform for 500 Rs.”
There have always been people criticizing him for his drinking sequences in his films. When asked him which brand he prefers he wittingly said, “Haven’t you watched ‘OKOK’ yet? I have talked about my brand not being cold in any wine shops.”
Commenting on the rumour that his rise has led to the fall of Vadivelu, like a wise monk he says, “No actor is the cause for another’s fall in this industry. If I fail tomorrow, it will be because of my own inability to impress.”
About his small screen friends he said, “I value friendship more than the screen size. I always enjoy the company of my Lollu Sabha team”, and added his trade mark ‘Nanbenda’ on a finishing note.
