Ambuli was the first stereoscopic 3D movie in Tamil and it had a decent run at the box-office as well. Though the movie was gripping another reason why it ran well was the lack of piracy. Being a 3D movie, pirates were kept at bay and Ambuli was heralded as a pioneer in tackling piracy due to the use of 3D.
Now another 3D movie is being made in Tamil and Malayalam by renowned director Vinayan. The Tamil version is titled Nankam Pirai while the Malayalam verson is titled Dracula. The genre of the movie is pretty obvious by seeing the title, a horror thriller it is.
