Aravaan writer wins prestigious award

Su Venkatesan's celebrated literary piece Kaaval Kottam, which expolores the history of Madurai between 1310 and 1920 has been hailed as a magnificent achievement. Vasanthabalan's Aravaan starring Aadhi, Kabir Bedi, Pasupathy and Dansika is derived from a small portion of this book. This writer has been honored with the Sahitya Akademi Award for the year, 2011 and it is the highest accolade in India for writers.

Vasanthabalan was ecstatic for his scriptwriter and he said that no one deserved it more. Su Venkatesan dedicated the award to fellow writers in Tamil and said that there are many gifted Tamil writers who all deserved recognition. Our heartiest congratulations to this special writer!
