The Directors’ Union has announced that it will not extend its full support to the 9th Chennai International Film Festival. This event kick started on December 14th and will end on the 22nd. Right from the beginning the Directors’ Union and the CIFF organizers were at loggerheads as two important films – Thenmerkku Paruvakattru and Sengkadal – were not included.

Things have now been sorted with the Indo Cine Appreciation Committee, the organizer of CIFF, deciding to screen these two films. Thenmerkku Paruvakattru and Sengkadal will be screened at the Film Chamber Preview Theatre in Chennai on December 21st.
