Siddu +2 First Attempt competition held by Behindwoods.com
for its patrons was a grand success! The film was
screened at the Four Frames Theatre in Chennai and
100 winners who were selected from scores of contestants
enjoyed the screening.
Soon after the show, Siddu +2 First Attempt’s
director Bhagyaraj arrived at the venue to interact
with the fans and a few minutes later the film’s
hero Shanthanoo arrived with his mother Poornima Bhagyaraj,
an actress in her own right. Poornima allowed the
father-son duo to hog the limelight while she remained
at the background taking in every moment of their
glory with a beaming smile.
Both Bhagyaraj and Shanthanoo interacted with the
audience enthusiastically answering all their queries
with good humor.
The director jocularly remarked that his son wanted
to know, during the making of the film, why there
were no scenes that allowed him in close proximity
with the heroine Chandini, and Bhagyaraj had replied
that he was not matured enough for it. However, Bhagyaraj
clarified that the script did not require it.
To a question on how it was working with his father,
Shanthanoo said that he enjoyed the experience and
felt more relaxed and immediately the director took
hold of the mike and answered that Shanthanoo pestered
him all through the shooting with a lot of questions
and kept suggesting some changes. To this, the actor
riposted that he is interested in direction too and
would one day don the director’s cap as well.
Like father, like son!
Many in the audience wanted to know why Bhagyaraj
chose not to act in the film, and he said that there
was no suitable role for him in it. Shanthanoo added
that he had a tough time convincing his father to
appear in dance sequence, which is the remix version
of “En Soga Kathaya Kelu Thaikulame.”
Shanthanoo made it a point to mention every actor
in the film and how each one of them worked for it
and what their future projects are. He let the audience
know that cinema is their bread and butter and watching
movies in pirated CDs and DVDs will only kill their
efforts.
According to Bhagyaraj, when answering a question
about why the delay in releasing the film, he said
that the current scenario in the film industry makes
it impossible to procure theatres to release the film.
The director thanked Moser Baer Entertainment for
releasing the film and said that though Moser Baer
Dhananjayan could not make it to the interaction;
he had ensured that Bhagyaraj and Shanthanoo were
present there by calling them several times during
the day to confirm their participation.
Though the audiences and both the director as well
as the actor was interested in continuing the interaction,
time constraints called for a photo session. After
requesting to spread the word about the film, they
obliged all those present with autographs and photographs.
