I OWE IT ALL TO SELVA: DHANUSH
November 28, 2011

It was a delight for the 50 couples who were selected for the Mayakkam Enna contest conducted by behindwoods to watch the film and have an interaction with Dhanush, Richa Gangopadhyay and cameraman Ramji. While Dhanush looked very simple in a white shirt and jeans, Richa was resplendent wearing a striking red-colored tops and jeans.

The trio answered a volley of questions thrown at them by the winners of the contest. Dhanush answered most of the questions as they were aimed at him and for several questions his answers had long explanations.

He proved to be a real star as he took criticisms in his stride just like praises and accolades. Dhanush’s simple demeanor and polite manners had the audiences captivated. He also patiently posed for photographs with the winners.

The star also took the opportunity to reiterate that he owed his success entirely to his brother Selvaraghavan. “If not for Selva and his excellent directorial capabilities, I would not have reached where I am today”, said Dhanush.

When someone in the audience wanted to know if Dhanush was a trained photographer, the star replied in negative. He agreed that his knowledge in photography was very limited but another character – Sundar – was a real and accomplished photographer and he learnt a few tips from him for the film.

To another question on why there was no dubbed version of Mayakkam Enna in Telugu, Dhanush replied that there is a possibility of remaking the film.

The star also reiterated that directing movies is his goal and writing lyrics, singing and acting are just ancillaries. He made it clear that he would direct a film soon.
