In China’s Hubei province, doctors reportedly removed more than 50 maggots from a rotting open wound in the back of a man’s head. Surgeons operated on the 75-year-old patient, who had scratched opened a wart, on August 5 to prevent the maggots from eating into his brain, say reports. A doctor at the hospital reportedly said the man’s open wound had probably attracted flies to lay larvae in his head.
