The World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed three cases of Zika virus in India. A pregnant woman from Gujarat's Ahmedabad reported the first in the country. All the cases are from the Bapunagar area of Ahmedabad. "The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare - Government of India (MoHFW) reported three laboratory-confirmed cases of Zika virus disease in Bapunagar area, Ahmedabad District, Gujarat, State, India", the global health body said in a statement.
