Indian skipper Virat Kohli has said that people on several occasions had tried to problematize his relationship with former captain MS Dhoni. In ‘Breakfast with Champions’ with Gaurav Kapur, the top batsman, however, added that neither he nor Dhoni cared about those controversies. Lauding the understanding between him and Dhoni, Kohli said, “For example, if we’re running between the wickets and he says two, I simply close my eyes and run. Because I’m so sure of his judgment, I know that I’ll make it.” Kohli had also stated that he was lucky to have Dhoni around during his initial days of captaincy.
Rahul Dravid, ‘the wall’ of team India has reportedly advised budding cricketers not to imitate skipper Virat Kohli blindly. Stating that the 28-year-old Kohli “comes across as outrageous”, Dravid reportedly added, “We want a little bit of lip on the field.” Further, the 44-year-old batting legend said he cringes on reading Kohli’s statements before a series, adding, “But if he can bring the best out of himself by needling the opposition, so be it.”

Indian captain Virat Kohli scored his 17th international hundred as captain against Sri Lanka on Thursday. Kohli went past Sourav Ganguly's record of 16 hundreds as Team India skipper. Indian captain Virat Kohli smashed his 29th ODI century in a show of absolute command in the 4th ODI against Sri Lanka at the Premadasa Stadium on Thursday. India spinner Kuldeep Yadav reportedly said that there is no one better to judge his bowling than former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. "There is no word to describe MS Dhoni's influence on a young bowler like me", Kuldeep said. "There is no one better than him to judge you because he is watching from behind the wicket and he keeps telling me what I need to. I feel very proud that I am playing with him and very lucky that I could be playing in his 300th game", Kuldeep added.
