According to reports, the Vedanthangal bird sanctuary is set to be closed for visitors from June 1. Reportedly, this comes after thousands of birds migrated back as lakes in the area are almost dry due to drought. Notably, the bird sanctuary which opened its doors to visitors on September 30 last year, witnessed over 22,000 migratory birds this season.
