Vaiko seeks bail in sedition case

MDMK chief Vaiko has reportedly sought bail in the eight-year-old sedition case against him. The case is likely to come up for hearing on Wednesday in the principal sessions court in Chennai. The trial is yet to commence in the case which was charge-sheeted in 2010. During a hearing on April 3, Vaiko refused the magistrate’s offer to release him on bail. Hence, the magistrate remanded him in judicial custody, and later he was lodged in the Central Prison at Puzhal, say reports.
