Two young girls were reportedly offered Rs 50,000 as compensation by the village elders after they were allegedly gang-raped by eight men in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The girls refused to take the money and filed a complaint at the police station. Notably, the accused include a mandal elected representative's son, a head constable's son and six others, all of whom are absconding.
