Two men were sentenced to five years in jail under the Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act on Monday by a local court  in Uttar Pradesh for slaughtering cows. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 15000 each on the accused Gayyur and Gadhe Ali. The case was filed in 2012 after police seized beef from a truck at a check post in Shamli district.
