TN couple of inter-caste marriage seeks police protection

In Erode district of Tamil Nadu, an inter-caste couple, who married against the wishes of the woman's parents, reportedly sought police protection for fear of honour killing. Reportedly, the couple feared they would be killed if they went back to their hometown since they belong to different castes. Notably, the Kongu belt, from where the couple hails, is reportedly notorious for incidents of honour killing.
