In the new tax rates under the GST bill, smalls cars will reportedly become expensive with 1% cess charged on top of 28% tax, while mid-sized cars will attract 3% cess. Luxury cars may become cheaper as the tax on such cars will come down to 42-45% from the current 52-55%. Full-size sedans like Honda City may become cheaper.
