A daily wage worker of Metrowater reportedly died after a pile of soil caved in the ground while he was laying a pipeline underground in Triplicane on Sunday. Residents of the area alleged that the incident took place at 6 p.m. and they rushed to help him. According to media reports, the police and fire and rescue service arrived soon and managed to bring the man out after struggling for half an hour. Reportedly the Rajiv Gandhi hospital doctors declared him brought dead.
