Violence in Kasimedu; Protestors damage 5 MTC buses

According to reports, protests in Kasimedu began on Monday against high-powered boat engines from China being used by some fishermen giving them an advantage over traditional vessels. The protest soon turned violent as protesters started hurling stones damaging at least 10 vehicles, including five MTC buses. Police reportedly lathi-charged the protestors as they began to move towards the road and blocked traffic. (Image for representation purpose)
