According to media reports, the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Right and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Rules have imposed new tenancy rules for pet animals, which include separate rent to occupy pets at home. The rules also include permission for the owners to deduct money from the deposit if the pet defecates or damages the home.
