Taxi-cab drivers strike against Ola, Uber in Chennai Airport

The police officials detained 200 taxi drivers on Wednesday outside Chennai Domestic Airport. The Airport Authority of India reportedly provided space for the app based taxi like Ola and Uber which made the business of prepaid taxi in Airport go down in business. 200 taxi drivers protested against the idea as their business model was not competitive to app based cabs. According to media reports, the Airport Authority of India said that people prefer online cabs as they are 50% cheaper than the old prepaid taxies and that is why they want to provide space for booths of Ola and Uber.
