A retired sub-inspector and his 7-year-old wife were reportedly cheated by a woman police constable, Vellai Mathi, who promised them that she would be a surrogate mother for their child. The couple, who were advised by a doctor to opt surrogate pregnancy, reportedly contacted Vellai Mathi, who agreed to be a surrogate mother after demanding Rs 10 lakh from the couple. However, after she received the money, she reportedly denied the surrogacy.
