It will take six months to conduct civic polls in Tamil Nadu: EC

The Election Commission has reportedly informed the Supreme Court that it will take six months to conduct the local body elections in Tamil Nadu. The polls body has reportedly said that it needs six months for the delimitation of constituencies based on the 2011 census before the civic polls. The apex court reportedly stated that the confusion in conducting the civic polls shows the political crisis in Tamil Nadu. SC also adjourned the case for hearing on September 6.
